More than a dozen top-ranked bodyboarding pros, in town for the Turbo Bodyboards Pipe Pro, will greet fans at T&C Surf’s 'Go Big!' Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Ala Moana Center Stage. The 13th annual 'Go Big!', which serves as the official kick-off for the 2010 Turbo Bodyboards Pipe Pro, lets fans mingle with the sport’s best and gives away tons of bodyboarding gear from event sponsors. “Go Big!” is free and open to the public.

Pros scheduled to attend the event include: nine-time world champion Mike Stewart, reigning IBA world champion Jeff Hubbard, as well as former world title holders Ben Player, Guilherme Tamega, Andrew Botha and Damien King. Taking time out for fans, even when the waves are cranking at Pipe, is something that both Stewart and Hubbard consider an honor.
“It’s great to have so many people respect what you do,” says Stewart. “During the contests we sort of have our competitive hat on. It takes a lot of focus to do well, and we’re not able to give fans the time they deserve. So I’ve always enjoyed meeting people face-to-face. It’s a better way to make a genuine connection with them.”

The stoke they get from fans in turn gives them that extra drive to win. “It definitely makes me want to go harder,” says Hubbard. “The fans create such an excitement for us. It really transforms my week leading up to the event.” The pros will be at Center Stage from Noon to 2 p.m. with T&C Surf and 102.7 Da Bomb deejay Brudduh Brian giving away bodyboards, tossing out fins, leashes, board bags and more!

Fans will be called on stage to compete for prizes in a series of off-the-wall games, a tradition at “Go Big!”. Perennial favorites such as “Stack the Wax” and “Towel Changing” are on the agenda, along with some outrageous new games.
