Competition has been called off for today, with onshore winds and small waves. “We sat it out for six hours hoping the tide would assist conditions,” Richie Porta, ASP Women’s World Tour Head Judge, said. “Unfortunately, the swell has not fully eventuated. We have all decided it’s worth rolling the dice and hoping for improved conditions and a bigger swell tomorrow morning.” When competition resumes, up first will be Melanie Bartels (HAW), 27, Megan Abubo (HAW), 31, and Nadja DeCol (PER), 19, in Round 1 of the elimination Round 2.
