Massive Surf Destroys Rip Curl Pro Search Primary Site

The Rip Curl Pro Search is a special event and already has a special history. Very few surfers have never heard about it (remember the 2006 edition of the contest where we saw some of the best waves seen in a surf competition so far). Mobility and unpredictability make this event the one to not miss.

This edition has already entered history in two ways : this is the first time a Rip Curl Pro Search is organized for women and last night the contest site has been completely smashed by a 15 foot storm swell !

After seeing the damages, contest director Damien Hardman decided to call the day off. “We really wanted to run today, but the site structure at Supertubos is too badly damaged” he said. “We’re still seeing plenty of swell on the forecast and better weather so we’ll be back at Supertubos tomorrow at 8am tomorrow.”

The site will be fixed these next hours and the women competition will begin as scheluded next monday. Follow all the action on DYLA.
