Emily Richmond is going to sail the world. That’s the plan. She will circumnavigate her boat 24, 000 miles in 24 months, beginning December of 2009 in Mexico, cutting through Central America to cross into the Atlantic Ocean, over Africa, past Fiji to Northern Australia, across the open ocean and back to Mexico- eventually ending in her voyage in her hometown of Los Angeles, California;
 
Richmond’s plan to sail the world has been in the works for some time now. She launched a blog online ( www.bobbieroundstheworld.com) as a Kick Starter project (www.kickstarter.com), using “crowd-funding” to support her trip.
 
Her enthusiastic and insightful blog has lured many fans, and she successfully raised $8,000 for her two year trip across the world; six continents, three oceans, one girl on a mission.
