Were you holding your breath? The ASP Tour is back, with rookie vengeance, with the ROXY PRO running February 27th to March 10th at the southern end of the Gold Coast.

The first swell of the season has arrived in perfect time to help reform the sandbank at Snapper Rocks for the upcoming ROXY PRO, after wild weather and surf tore up both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts of Australia.

Both 19 year olds, Bruna Schmitz (Brazil) and Paige Hareb (New Zealand) already touched down, Down Under, to start the 2010 ASP season off right.

In less than two weeks, the surfers will take on three time world and defending ROXY PRO champion Stephanie Gilmore (Tweed Heads, AUS).

"She'll be pretty tough to beat," said Paige. "It's her home turf so she'll have the most confidence out of any spot we surf. I'm looking forward to coming up against her and having another chance of trying to beat her." Paige finished the 2009 ASP season as World No. 8 and is frothing for results this year.

"It's my second year on tour, so the nerves aren't quite as bad," she said. "There's a few new faces like Carissa (Moore). It's going to be pretty exciting and hopefully there will be some awesome surfing."

World no.4 Coco Ho (Haw) and world no. 5 Sally Fitzgibbons (Gerroa, AUS) enjoyed outstanding rookie seasons in 2009 and are sure to be biting at the heels of the top ranks this year.

Eighteen-year-old Fitzgibbons - who posted a second and three thirds in 2009 - was spotted ripping up the Gold Coast point waves of Burleigh Heads this week with picture perfect style. The surfing sensation appears to be in top form heading into the ROXY PRO.

Stay tuned as the ASP season kicks off- you won't want to miss this year.
