Tell us about your quiver? Do you have one main shaper you stick too? What’s your standard go-to board?

My main shaper is Darren Handley at DHD surfboards on the Gold Coast in Australia. My standard go-to board is a 5'7" shorty, it's always in my quiver.

What are your favorite things to eat?

My favorite thing to eat would have to be fresh fruit. I recently had amazing fruit in Peru I especially enjoyed the mangoes!

Have you had any injuries this year? If so, what?

I received an injury at the first event of the year at the Roxy Pro Goldcoast to my lower back. I've been working hard to make sure it doesn't occur again.

How long have you been sponsored by Roxy?

Roxy has sponsored me for 4 years. I'm really fortunate to have them as my major sponsor. They have been really supportive in helping me to live my dream.

Who do you hang with on tour?

I get along really well with all the girls on tour, it's a great group of girls to travel the world with and compete against.

You’ve had great results this year on the WCT, how do you train? Do you cross train? Do you work with a coach?

My first year on tour has been an up and down year. I'm happy to have had some solid results throughout the year. I've been working with my coach Dan Ross from Red Bull and he has been really great to have around. He has a lot of experience and has Qualified for the 2010 World Tour.

What’s the best trip you have been on this year?

The best trip I've been on this year would have to be the Red Bull trip I went on to the Mentawis in Indonesia. We had amazing waves the whole trip and were fortunate enough to be on one of the nicest boats in the water there, the Indies Trader IV.

When did you start competing?

I started competing when I was 11 years old. My first contest was the Rusty Gromfest at Lennox Head, Australia.

How do you train for competition? If you work with a coach, what kind of drills do you do?

To prepare for a competition, I surf the break where the event will be held a bunch, just to get familiar with the wave and get my bearings. I make sure I'm rested and hydrated, especially if I have traveled a long way to get to the contest.

Who do you admire in surfing? Who pushes you?

I admire a lot of the top surfers, both competition surfers and free surfers. A few would be Mick Fanning, Dan Ross and Julian Wilson.

What’s the weirdest encounter you’ve had with a marine creature?

Probably the weirdest encounter I've had with a marine creature would be in Brazil. We were surfing this left and right reef break, which had an abundance of turtles in the line up. I was on a wave and doing a bottom turn when a turtle popped up mid face and totally knocked me off my board. Another encounter I have had was when I was surfing a break by my house and a massive whale started breaching about 100 meters away from me. It was an amazing experience!

From the age of fifteen,

From the age of fifteen, dogma has been the fundamental principle of my religion: I know no other religion; I cannot enter into the idea of any other sort of religion; religion, as a mere sentiment, is to me a dream and a mockery.
