Hawaii could see debris from Japan in 18 months

It is uncertain how much debris from the devastating earthquake & tsunami in Japan will reach Hawaiian shores, but University of Hawaii scientists have created models tht predict the first waves of debris to arrive in 18 months.

So, in between Soul Surfer movie promo trips, February was my month off. All I really wanted to do was SURF! And that's exactly what I did. I'm stoked cause I got a lot of good surf. (: It was nice to be home, cruise with my family, catch up with some friends and just have down time and rest.
 

Steph Gilmore rocks SURFER Poll in style

She's got style both in the water and at the show, Stephanie Gilmore won Female Surfer of the Year at the Surfer Poll Awards, wearing a white lace dress and red hot lips! This was the second consecutive year that Steph won the award, soon after claiming her fourth- consecutive world title. Carissa Moore was voted second, Coco Ho in third, Sofia Mulanovich in fourth and Alana Blanchard in fifth.

Ladies rip at Triple Crown on the north shore

There's nothing like the north shore in winter! The ladies paddle out to the first stop of the Van's Triple Crown of surfing in Hale'iwa. Cholo's Hawaiian Pro offered some awesome waves for the surfers to show their skill as the event was broadcasted live. Stephanie Gilmore surfed with power and style, earning rides in the nine point range and ultimately winning the event. Fellow Rip Curl team riders Tyler Wright and Alana Blanchard also took to the podium, Alana Blanchard having won the title at Hale'iwa the previous year. The Triple Crown continues at Sunset Beach for the Gidget Pro!
